Low profile, wide coverage
Thin units cover large areas economically and work as a continuous flexible lining.
For riverbanks, canals, irrigation and water-channel protection. Revet mattresses — also known as reno or gabion mattresses — are wide, shallow double-twisted wire mesh units, typically 170 mm to 300 mm thick, filled with stone and laid as a flexible lining on river banks, canal beds and channel slopes.

Revet mattresses — also known as reno or gabion mattresses — are wide, shallow double-twisted wire mesh units, typically 170 mm to 300 mm thick, filled with stone and laid as a flexible lining on river banks, canal beds and channel slopes. They resist scour and bank erosion while letting water drain through, and they conform to the bed as it settles.

Compartments at 1 m centres stop stone migration on sloping banks.
Stone fill, mesh confinement and unit thickness are chosen for the design flow velocity.
Silt fills the voids over time and vegetation establishes, blending the bank into the landscape.
Units are assembled and filled in place; no curing time, works in wet conditions.
Galvanised, Zn-Al or PVC-coated mesh for freshwater, polluted or marine conditions.
Typical specifications. Wire diameters, mesh type, coating class and unit sizes are confirmed against your project specification and IS 16014:2024 at the time of order. Test certificates are supplied with each despatch.

Talk to Our TeamA revet (reno) mattress is a shallow, wide gabion unit, usually 170–300 mm thick, filled with stone and used as a flexible revetment on river banks, canals and channel beds to prevent scour and erosion.
Use gabion boxes where you need a gravity structure (retaining wall, abutment, check dam). Use revet mattresses where you need a thin, flexible lining over a large area such as a river bank slope, canal bed or scour apron. Many river works combine both: boxes at the toe, mattresses on the slope.
Yes. Pre-filled mattresses can be placed from barges or cranes, and the flexible mesh conforms to an uneven bed. This is a common method for bridge scour protection.
